Jetta is registered as a black/silver miniature schnauzer. As she has gotten older, her black has faded to a silvery grey.

Jetta's dad was chocolate (a recessive gene) and her mom was black (a dominant gene). Both parents carried for the parti pattern and the salt/pepper pattern. So, although Jetta is a regular colored schnauzer, when bred to a male who is chocolate-based or carries for chocolate or parti, we can get puppies in a variety of patterns that are either black-based or chocolate-based.
